What steps is UNH taking to make the budget process more transparent and data-informed this year? 

The university has established a webpage to communicate updates around the budget development process, beginning with information about the Budget Advisory Committee. Committee membership is listed, as is a link to a presentation from the group’s initial meeting.

As an advisory group bringing together perspectives from across the university, the committee is charged to 

  • develop a transparent and data-informed budget model and process;

  • assist with the design and refinement of the model and its guiding principles;

  • elevate questions and ideas from stakeholder groups; and

  • support communication and community engagement to ensure the process is collaborative and responsive. 

The budget model will serve as a living framework that informs, rather than dictates, university decisions and will complement an annual budgeting process grounded in engagement and input each cycle. 

Additional information will be added to the page as the Budget Advisory Committee continues to meet and a recommended model is developed.
