  • Complete Legal Change of Name Form, include documentation required.
    • Drop off at Office of the Registrar in Stoke Hall.
    • Fax to (603) 862-1817.
    • Mail to Office of the Registrar, Stoke Hall, 11 Garrison Avenue, Durham, NH  03824-3511.
    • Do not email documents containing Social Security number.

Preferred Name

Students may indicate a preferred first name that will appear in various platforms at UNH. The preferred first name will be used in the places listed below, regardless of whether or not you have legally changed your name. To change your name legally, go to Legal Name Change.

The usage of preferred first name at UNH is an ongoing process. Additional processes will continue to be evaluated.  More information may be found on the Registrar page
