University Commission on Access, Belonging, & Community (UCABC)

Purpose

The University Commission on Access, Belonging, & Community (UCABC) is formed around a common bond and a commitment to challenging stereotypes, eradicating systemic inequalities and oppression, and creating a campus climate of respect for all students and employees. It provides support of institutional efforts around community building, well-being, inclusion, and belonging for all. UCABC's efforts are grounded in mutual respect and civil discourse.
 

Mission

The University Commission on Access, Belonging, & Community (UCABC) is supported by the Associate Vice President for Community, Civil Rights and Compliance and has been charged with the following:

  •  Create working groups and committees involved in awareness-building and solution-driven action.
  • Create and submit proposals for services, policy changes and practices that build safer, more welcoming, universally accessible learning, working and living environments free of physical, programmatic and attitudinal barriers.
  • Monitor campus for both discriminatory incidents and evidence of progress, sharing issues/concerns with the Office of Community, Civil Rights and Compliance (OC3) and recommending action(s) to them and other UNH governance groups.
  • Act as a resource for action items as identified by the President, the Associate Vice President for Community, Civil Rights and Compliance, and/or other UNH governance groups.
