UNH Cello Festival - Spring 2026

The UNH Music Department is pleased to announce the 2026 UNH Cello Festival, a dynamic one-day event inviting cellists of all ages and levels to come together for an immersive experience of learning, performance, and collaboration. From young students to advanced players and adult amateurs, the festival offers a welcoming and inspiring environment to deepen musicianship and connect with fellow cellists from across the region.

Held each spring at UNH’s Paul Creative Arts Center, the UNH Cello Festival features a rich day of activities including a large cello ensemble, masterclasses with UNH faculty, an instrument viewing and discussion with Tom Holdener of Carriage House Violins, and a featured masterclass with Mark Churchill. Participants will also enjoy a concluding concert performed by Mark Churchill and Jacques Lee Wood, offering an inspiring capstone to the day.

The festival is designed to foster artistic growth, technical development, and meaningful musical exchange in a supportive and collegial setting. Whether you are seeking focused feedback, the energy of ensemble playing, or the chance to explore fine instruments and ideas with expert musicians, the UNH Cello Festival offers a rewarding and memorable experience.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 7 and join us for a full day celebrating the cello, community, and the joy of music-making at UNH.

Refund Policy: No refunds are provided unless UNH cancels the program.

The festival is held at Paul Creative Arts Center on the UNH Durham campus, 30 Academic Way, Durham NH. Additional festival information is sent directly from program staff.

Click the '+' on your desired registration block(s) to enroll. Review the Online Registration Instructions before enrolling for the best outcome. This includes instructions for creating a Family or Student/Individual account.

Family Accounts are recommended for enrolling multiple children from one family in any UNH Youth Program. If you already have an account in our system, you will be asked to log into either a Family or Student Account after adding the program to your shopping cart. Be sure to use the username and password for the type of account you wish to log into. We recommend attempting to log into the Student or Family account before enrollment opens as this will minimize difficulty and time while enrolling. Email youth.programs@unh.edu if you require assistance recovering your account information. Do not create a new account if you have one already.

If you don't have an account already, you can set up an account at any time, even before you begin the registration process. If creating a student account, the account profile should be in the name of the participating student, but the email should be that of a parent/guardian. Review the Online Registration Instructions before creating a new account.

Payments are made at the time of online enrollment. Accepted forms of payment for youth programs are VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Paper checks are accepted only under very limited circumstances (ex: from a school or organization). We do not accept cash payments or e-checks and we cannot take payments over the phone.

A participant cannot attend a youth program unless they are paid in full. Any participant with an unpaid balance may be locked from future enrollment in any youth program until the balance is paid.

Academic Year Youth Programs

In addition to the program fees, participants in academic year youth programs are subject to a non-refundable $5 registration fee once per student per semester at checkout. This fee supports use of our supplemental registration software.

Refund Procedures

Refund procedures are set by the department running the program and the procedures will be stated on the program webpage. If the session is canceled by UNH before the session start date, a full refund will be issued.
