Write with us on Thursdays! Spark your imagination with freewrites, learn writing techniques, and bring longer pieces to completion, all while connecting with a supportive group of other writers. Have a specific piece that you’re working on? CLC staff are happy to help you with projects of your choice. Come for as many or as few sessions as fit your schedule!

Write Free is held at the Community Literacy Center, Murkland Hall Room G14, 15 Library Way, Durham, NH OR online via Zoom. Participants can join either in-person or online. Each week that a child is enrolled, the preferred email on the account will receive a confirmation email with information to either join via Zoom or attend in person.

Additional information including drop off and pick up locations are sent directly from program staff.

New as of Fall 2026:

  • Participants purchase multi-session punch-cards. If the participant is regularly attending, punch-cards do not expire between semesters. If the participant is not regularly attending (i.e. missed 3 or more meetings in a row), the punch-card expires at the end of a semester.
  • Participants will now complete registration questions in CampDoc (explained below).

To request a Drop or Transfer from a Youth Program, contact the program manager (info below). Please include the full name of the participant(s) and clearly state the program and session(s) to be adjusted. This does not guarantee a refund but alerts us that a drop has been requested. No refunds will be provided for Write Free after the registration close date.

Click the '+' on your desired registration block(s) to enroll. Review the Online Registration Instructions before enrolling for the best outcome. This includes instructions for creating a Family or Student/Individual account.

Family Accounts are recommended for enrolling multiple children from one family in any UNH Youth Program. If you already have an account in our system, you will be asked to log into either a Family or Student Account after adding the program to your shopping cart. Be sure to use the username and password for the type of account you wish to log into. We recommend attempting to log into the Student or Family account before enrollment opens as this will minimize difficulty and time while enrolling. Email youth.programs@unh.edu if you require assistance recovering your account information. Do not create a new account if you have one already.

If you don't have an account already, you can set up an account at any time, even before you begin the registration process. If creating a student account, the account profile should be in the name of the participating student, but the email should be that of a parent/guardian. Review the Online Registration Instructions before creating a new account.

Arrival/Drop-off: Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to programming so that programming can start on time. Children in grades four and below must be dropped off by an adult.

Late Arrivals:  If your child arrives late, please make sure to check your child in face-to-face with a CLC staff member.

Dismissal: All minors must be dismissed to an authorized adult. Please make sure all authorized adults know to have a picture ID for pick-up. The default place for CLC pick-up is the waiting room in the 111 Suite. If you need a different pick-up location, like the parking spots outside of Morrill Hall, contact the organizer of your child’s program.

The UNH Community Literacy Center is located in Suite 109 of Morrill Hall, 62 College Rd., Durham, NH.
