More than 1,500 students made presentations during this year’s Undergraduate Research Conference (URC), one of the largest and most diverse events of its kind in the country and a signature annual showcase of student research and scholarly work at UNH.

Although developments in biology over the past 20 years increasingly require researchers to use advanced quantita­tive skills such as mathematics, statistics and programming, biology students continue to often reach graduate school without the needed training in those areas.

The UNH community exceeded all expectations again with this year’s (603) Challenge — thank you for making this year another smashing success. Last week, the annual Graduate Research Conference, or GRC, took place with oral presentations on Monday and poster presentations on Tuesday filling up three rooms in Holloway Commons. There were 54 oral presentations and 89 poster presentations in all, a marked uptick from previous years.

Yashwant Prakash Vyas, director of UNH’s Aulbani J. Beauregard Center for Equity, Justice, and Freedom, was recognized with the Outstanding Contributions to Student Leadership Programs Award from NASPA’s Student Leadership Programs Knowledge Community (SLPKC) at the organization’s 2023 annual conference in Boston, Massachusetts.
