DURHAM, N.H. - To the University of New Hampshire faculty, staff and visitors who park outside the Elliott Alumni Center, D Lot may seem like just another parking lot, 53,000 square feet of black asphalt, white lines, and never enough empty spaces.

But to Robert Roseen, director of the UNH Stormwater Center, the new porous asphalt D Lot will be a mighty multitasking piece of infrastructure, providing not just parking but also improved water quality and research data.

Catholic Scholar Available to Discuss Vatican's New Rules on Child Sex Abuse

DURHAM, N.H. - Michele Dillon, a scholar of Catholicism and professor of sociology at the University of New Hampshire, is available to discuss the significance of new rules proposed by the Vatican aimed at preventing the sexual abuse of children.

According to Dillon, the new rules are a significant step but the question remains as to whether the Vatican and church bureaucracy will enforce the rules it makes.

Entitled Workers Are More Frustrated on the Job and More Likely to Abuse Co-Workers, New Research Finds

DURHAM, N.H. - Employees who feel entitled in the workplace are more apt to be frustrated on the job and lash out at their co-workers, according to new research from the University of New Hampshire.

Conducted by Paul Harvey, assistant professor of management at UNH, the research is presented in the latest issue of the journal Human Relations in the article "Frustration-based outcomes of entitlement and the influence of supervisor communication."

UNH Police Arrest Exeter Man for Possession of Illegal Images

DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire Police Department charged a registered sex offender with possession of child sexual abuse images after Dimond Library staff reported he was allegedly downloading images of naked children at a public computer.

Police immediately responded to the library Saturday, July 10, 2010, at approximately 3 p.m. after receiving a call from library staff. Phillip A. Burbank, 67, of 9 Bayberry Lane, Exeter, was arrested July 12, 2010, and charged with Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Images (RSA 649-A:3) after an extensive police investigation.

UNH Statement on NTIA Broadband Grant

UNH's James Hall Granted LEED Gold Certification

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire's James Hall has received LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its $34.2 million renovation and expansion. James Hall, which houses the UNH departments of Earth sciences and natural resources and the environment, is the first UNH building project to seek LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
