Drop date has occurred in November in 17 of 25 years since 2000

The ginkgo tree outside of James Hall saw its leaves fall Nov. 16 this year, marking the latest leaf drop for the tree on record. Later dates have become something of a trend, as the drop date has occurred in November in 17 of 25 years since 2000 after occurring in November only four times prior to 2000. We caught up with Serita Frey, professor of natural resources and the environment in UNH's College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA), to learn more about the shifting drop dates and what the change could indicate, and also scored some additional ginkgo knowledge - like the fact that the trees were around with the dinosaurs! Check out the video above to learn more.
