UNH Announces Earliest Outdoor Pool Opening

Thursday, April 27, 2017

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire anticipates opening its outdoor pool Thursday, May 10, 2017, more than a month earlier than previous years.

“We’re thrilled to be able to extend the season,” said Stacey Hall, director of Campus Recreation at UNH. “We want as many members of our community to enjoy this great new facility, and now that we have an outdoor pool that is heated we can open in time to accommodate our current students as well as Special Olympics New Hampshire, who plan to use it during their triathlon, and incoming students, who will be on campus for orientation.”

Hall said that pool hours will be limited for the first month and will depend on weather, so people are encouraged to check https://campusrec.unh.edu/outdoor-pool for a complete schedule. The pool will be closed May 20 and 21 to accommodate UNH commencement. It will also be closed Monday, May 29, in recognition of Memorial Day.
