Sabrina Pankey

Postdoctoral Researcher

Sabrina Pankey's research integrates gene expression, omics, phylogenetics and ecological metrics to examine how host-symbiont interactions drive species diversity and ecosystem functions. Her recent work has uncovered genomic innovations in bacteria that facilitate adaptation to a novel host by evading immunological barriers. Currently, she is looking at the role of microbiome diversity and function in shaping host diversity in coral reef ecosystems.
