As a result of staffing shortages many childcare facilities have had to close leaving parents desperate for alternatives. White River Junction childcare in the Upper Valley is closing it's doors after 30 years accorrding to the Valley News. Jess Carson, a researcher with the University of New Hampshire's Carsey School of Public Policy explained just how extreme the situation is with 6,600 children in need of care in the Upper Valley with only 5,071 spots available.
