Patricia Halpin, associate professor of biological sciences and biotechnology, was elected as chair of the Teaching of Physiology section for the American Physiological Society, which has more than 8,000 members across the globe. The Teaching Section promotes excellence in physiology education through educational research and scholarship in physiology, providing opportunities and mentoring for trainees, early career faculty and established faculty to adopt and refine evidence-based teaching of physiology. Halpin will serve a three-year term as chair, during which time she will lead the section steering committee, organize section meetings, coordinate conference events and more.
