Noor-Aldean Deek '21

The Meet Your PALs Series introduces you to UNH Manchester's Peer Assistant Leaders (PALs), who help first-year students adjust to campus life. This week's PAL is Manchester Memorial High School graduate Noor-Aldean Deek '21.

What do you like best about being a PAL?

I like the social interaction and getting to help others.

What advice do you have for new students?

Use the Center for Academic Enrichment as much as possible, they’re here to help.

What’s your favorite class and why?

Literary Analysis, it was intellectually stimulating.

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?

No idea, but hopefully something fun and constructive.

Tell us your favorite:

  • Manchester restaurant: USA Chicken & Biscuit.

  • New Hampshire destination: I just love the beach.

  • Vacation destination: Anywhere hot, preferably dry heat. Jordan is amazing.

  • Movie: Aladdin.

  • Book: Ishmael by Daniel Quinn.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I would go to Guatemala.

As a child, what did you wish to become when you grew up?

A musical performer.

We’d be surprised to know that...

I’m a musician. I’ve been playing violin for nine years, piano for four, vocals for three and guitar for two.

If you could go on a road trip with anyone (from the past or present), who would you choose and where would you go?

I would road trip with Stephen Hawking through Central America.
