Use of Wildcat Access

UNH Transit System provides a fixed route service (Wildcat Transit) and a Paratransit service (Access Van) according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Eligibility for the Access Van is determined through SAS or Health & Wellness. The Access Van service offers point-to-point transportation for UNH students with permanent or temporary disabilities. The Access Van serves the campus area serviced by the Campus Connector shuttles. Rides can be scheduled by contacting Access Van Dispatch at 603-862- 2328 (V).

For transit information refer to the website at UNH - Buses and Shuttles. Additionally, all UNH buses are lift-equipped.

Key Things to Know

  • Wildcat Access is not an "on-call" service. As such, use of the van should be scheduled in advance.
  • If the student will require regular pick-up times, they may pre-schedule for a designated period of time (no longer than 1 semester).
  • Due to volume, it is best to leave additional time for both pick-up and drop-off. Generally, plan at least a 30 minute buffer before scheduled pick-up and after scheduled drop-off. At times, depending on the volume of requests, additional buffer time may be needed.
  • If a pick-up or drop-off needs to be cancelled, the student is responsible for notifying the Access Van as soon as possible.

Student Responsibilities

Students are responsible for…

  • Meeting all student accommodation responsibilities
  • Requesting the use of accessible transportation in advance.
  • Planning additional time into pick-up and drop-off times to allow for transit as well as potential delays.
  • Meeting the Wildcat Access Van at the designated times.
  • Providing advanced notice of cancellations.
  • Ensuring all belongings are removed from the space after the ride is completed.

  1. Student discusses the need for accessibility transportation with SAS - Students can connect with SAS about use of the access van, but the request can also be made through Health & Wellness or the Dean of Students’ office.
  2. SAS communicates the approval to the parking office - Once approved as an accommodation, SAS will communicate the approval to the parking office.
  3. Parking office reaches out to the approved student.
  4. Student communicates their schedule to the parking office.
