The goal of UNH ADVANCE is to improve faculty climate and academic leadership through increased fairness, transparency, and clarity of recruitment, retention, and promotion and tenure policies and practices. While the NSF ADVANCE grant is directed at retaining and advancing gender, racial, and ethnic equity for faculty in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and the Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS), the overall goal to transform the climate of the university benefits the entire UNH faculty.
UNH has received three NSF ADVANCE grants and has been working to implement policies, programs and research to promote racial, ethnic and gender equity in STEM since 2009.
