UNH School of Nursing Earns Top 100 National Ranking
The University of New Hampshire School of Nursing’s undergraduate program is among the top 100 in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report.
UNH’s program ranked No. 94 on the 2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Undergraduate Nursing rankings, tied with multiple schools — a significant jump from No. 135 last year.
The program’s rise to the top 100 follows a year of growing interest and momentum. More than 2,000 students applied for 120 projected spots in this fall’s incoming class, a 20% increase from the previous year. Demand was so strong that the program reached capacity before UNH’s May 1 enrollment deposit deadline.

From interdisciplinary learning opportunities at the Health Sciences Simulation Center to clinical experiences with UNH’s network of healthcare partners, students have multiple opportunities to gain hands-on experience while making a meaningful impact in communities across the state.
The program’s restructuring into the School of Nursing in 2025 also gives undergraduates a clearer path to continue their education at UNH by bringing undergraduate and graduate nursing programs under one unified structure. The school serves approximately 800 students in programs ranging from pre-licensure nursing through clinical doctoral education, including multiple nurse practitioner tracks, with offerings in-person and online.

We want UNH to be a place where nurses can continue to learn and grow throughout their careers.”
Earlier this year, UNH’s online graduate nursing program rose nearly 70 spots to No. 56 nationally in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 Best Online Programs rankings.
