CONNECT offers two free summer programs (CONNECT Classic and STEM) that are open to historically underrepresented students!

Qualifying first-year students who have paid their housing deposit each May will be able to register for free! Housing and dining will be covered, and students will move into their academic housing. Please visit the FAQ section for more.

CONNECT Classic is open to students that were admitted to the College of Liberal Arts (COLA), College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) and the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics (PAUL).

CONNECT STEM is a free, donor-funded branch of the CONNECT Program specifically designed for forty students interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields. Students must be admitted to the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) and the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA).

Enrolled students will be assigned a Peer Mentor, attend academic workshops and engage in social activities. Interested students can apply to become Peer Mentors starting the spring semester of their first year!

The Summer Program includes a year long  Peer Mentoring partnership which helps engage students with their coursework, provides professional development through networking and internships, explores future employment opportunities, and prepares for graduate and professional education.

When Is It?

The summer program takes places two weeks before the start of the academic year.  Registration opens in early May and close at the end of July. Housing, meals, and activities are provided at no cost to students. Notifications will be provided to students' USNH emails, and they will receive a Welcome Packet prior to attendance.
