Shipping Hazardous Materials

The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) is available to assist faculty, staff, and students who make hazardous material shipments. OEHS can provide training and guidance that will help ensure hazardous material shipments arrive at their destination in the safest way possible.

OEHS has developed the following reference materials to assist UNH researchers in the shipment of hazardous materials:

Shipment of Research Compounds

When shipping laboratory synthesized chemicals, such as for analytical analysis or to share with a research collaborator,  request approval by filling out this chemical identification form. OEHS will review the form and then forward a protocol for packaging and shipping the material.

UNH Shipment of Hazardous Materials Manual

The UNH Shipment of Hazardous Materials Manual offers guidance to UNH researchers shipping any hazardous material other than biological materials and dry ice. EHS does not offer certification for general hazardous materials shipping, but provides shipping expertise to those who request it. Use this manual to begin the process of shipping hazardous materials with assistance from EHS.
