Sharon Demers, a native of Virginia, has been employed with the University for over 30 years, the majority of which has been in Human Resources.  Demers is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources.  In her career at UNH she has served in the positions of HR Partner, Director of HR Operations and Interim Assistant Vice President of Human Resources.  In her current position as Assistant Vice President she is committed to the development, expansion and maintenance of policies and practices that support the recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce and create a culture and climate of acceptance and inclusion. 
 
Demers is a member of the Diversity Council and sit on a variety of UNH and USNH committees including, Human Resource Professionals Advisory Council, Finance and Administrative Council, System Personnel Policy Council. Demers also serves as liaison to the Operating Staff, Professional, Administrative and Technical Staff and Extension Educator Councils. In her free time she enjoys volunteer work with her congregation, dining out and antiquing.
