The Honorable Jimmie Moore graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1972 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.  He went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Urban Education from the University of Massachusetts in 1973 and a Juris Doctorate Degree in 1976 from Rutgers University School of Law in Camden, New Jersey.  Judge Moore was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1976.  In 1977, he was appointed the first black Assistant Attorney General in the State of Delaware and established his Philadelphia law firm, J. Moore & Associates in 1978.  J. Moore & Associates provides general legal services in the areas of real estate, personal injury and collections. 

In addition to his work responsibilities, he served as Vice Chairman of the City of Philadelphia’s License and Inspection Board.  In 1999, he was elected to the Philadelphia Municipal Court for the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania.  Judge Moore sits on the Criminal Rules and Civil Rules Committee.  Currently he is a member of the Ellis Fund Advisory Board, World Communications Charter School Board of Trustees and the Philadelphia Dance Company Board of Directors. Judge Moore is both founder and director of the Paralegal Diploma Program at Eastern University located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  In the past and currently, he has served as an Adjunct Professor at University of Delaware, Peirce University and Eastern University.  He is a valued trustee and member of the 59th Street Baptist Church and spends his leisure time reading, fishing and traveling.
