Donald and Sarah Libbey Class of 1979
Sarah Clarke Libbey is a 1979 graduate of UNH with a Bachelor’s degree in sociology. She is the president of Fidelity Charitable Services. She is also president of Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund, a donor-advised fund and the third largest public charity in the United States.
Sarah began her career at Fidelity Investments in 1981 as a sales representative and has served in many product and distribution roles over 28 years. In 2002, She was named Senior Vice President of Fidelity Portfolio Advisory Services and from 2004 to 2007 served as Chair of the Board of Trustees and President of Fidelity Personal Trust Company.
Outside of work, Sarah has devoted volunteer hours to fundraising to support building education and community sustainability in Santa Maria Tzejà, Guatemala.
Donald H. C. Libbey received his UNH Bachelor’s degree in political science in 1979 and his Juris Doctor from New England School of Law in Boston in 1997. Don was a founding partner of a litigation law firm in Boston, and is now a solo practitioner with a concentration in business and real estate litigation in Needham, Massachusetts. He has extensive experience with small and medium-sized businesses, and his entrepreneurial business experience includes participation in the early 1990s in several joint-venture development projects with business entities and individuals in the Czech Republic. In 2006, Sarah and Don established the Sarah C. Libbey ’79 and Donald H. C. Libbey ’79 Endowed Fund for Science Diversity. The Fund provides scholarship assistance to students studying in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics disciplines of the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture or the College of Engineering and Physical sciences.
