The Dairy Bar

The railroad station in Durham, New Hampshire serves the Amtrak Downeaster and is situated west of downtown Durham on the campus of the University of New Hampshire (UNH). The station was originally built in 1896 in Lynn, Massachusetts and was moved to the present site in Durham when the Boston and Maine Railroad moved its tracks further from the center of campus. The Amtrak station itself consists of the platform of the original station. Tickets must be purchased at the Quik-Trak kiosk located in the lobby of the adjacent Whittemore Center Arena.

The station is now wholly occupied by the Dairy Bar, a small restaurant and ice cream establishment staffed by students from the University.

The Dairy Bar restaurant offers made-to-order menu items with a focus on local, sustainable and fresh foods. Open daily until 8:00pm, the Dairy Bar features all of your favorites like Blake's local ice cream, wholesome breakfast items and upscale sandwiches and local greens, all served in compostable packaging to limit our environmental impact. It is a whole new experience at a whole new Dairy Bar.
