Ken Johnson, Senior Demographer with the Carsey School, was recently quoted in an article in the Anchorage Daily News about population gains the states in the South and the West have experienced. When speaking about Texas, Johnson said the state “not only has a lot of immigrants, but it also gets a lot of domestic migration...And so that’s the one-two punch – domestic migration and immigration – that can push a state up.”
