
The AP News cited research from Carsey School of Public Policy Senior Demographer Ken Johnson in which Johnson found, based on 2020 Census data, that Maine and New Hampshire were the only New England states to gain population during each of the past four years, with New Hampshire seeing the largest percentage increase for the third year in a row. However, the overall growth for New Hampshire from 2019 to 2020 was small – about 5,500 people.
