Peer Assistant Leader Shreya Vijay '19, who is studying psychology with a minor in political science

The Meet Your PALs Series introduces you to UNH Manchester's Peer Assistant Leaders (PALs), who help first-year students adjust to campus life. This week's PAL is Shreya Vijay '19, who is studying psychology with a minor in political science.

What do you like best about being a PAL?

I have the chance to meet new students and learn about their different backgrounds and interests.

What advice do you have for new students?

Get involved in any way you can.

What brought you to UNH Manchester?

During my first campus tour, I was immediately drawn to the friendly environment, small class sizes and different leadership opportunities.

Favorite UNH Manchester memory?

Wildcat Welcome Day.

What’s your favorite class and why?

Political Psychology. Professor Pimpare always teaches really fascinating classes, and this was no exception, especially because it was a combination of my major and minor.

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?

Working at a law firm in Boston and hopefully traveling.

Tell us your favorite:

  • Manchester restaurant: Republic.
  • New Hampshire destination: Kancamagus Highway during the fall.
  • Vacation destination: Somewhere I’ve never been before.
  • Movie: Roman Holiday.
  • Book: The Kite Runner.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Iceland.

As a child, what did you wish to become when you grew up?

An actress.

We’d be surprised to know that…

I’m a Bollywood dance teacher.

If you could try anything and not fail, what dream would you attempt?

I'd open my own dance studio.

If you could go on a road trip with anyone (from the past or present), who would you choose and where would you go?

My childhood best friend and I have always wanted to go on a cross-country road trip and visit every state.
