As demand for water threatens to outstrip supply, it’s becoming evermore important to understand everything we can about this critical natural resource. William McDowell is doing just that. He examines how the watershed and landscape affects what gets into aquatic systems, and his research takes place all across the globe, from Guadeloupe to Siberia and beyond. McDowell recently received the 2017 Distinguished Professor award.
