Beginning with the new fiscal year (July 2017), Human Resources (HR) is launching a redesigned new hire orientation program for staff.

Scheduled by HR, the program includes two short sessions – the first as close to day one of employment in a benefitted role as possible and the second approximately one month later. Additionally, there will be follow-up communications from HR during the year to enhance the onboarding experience.

  • Session 1: Getting Started @UNH – held every Monday in the MUB, 3.5 hours:  8:30 a.m. – noon. Provides key/timely information on benefits enrollment, policies, parking, ID, etc. – those important topics one needs to know quickly when starting employment.
  • Session 2: Discover YOUR UNH – held monthly on a Tuesday in Holloway Commons Dining Hall: 11:30 a.m. -2 p.m.  Yes, lunch will be provided! Plus a number of key individuals will present information to help expand the new employee's knowledge of UNH, our culture and brand, and to increase awareness of the opportunities and responsibilities that come with joining our community.

Notification of scheduled program dates will be sent via email to new hires with a copy to the supervisor.  Included will be a link to the full program agenda, resources and related information:  www.unh.edu/hr/new-hire.  On the site are important program details:  session location, parking, and links to appropriate benefits materials for review prior to attendance.

Supervisors are key to the onboarding process and an HR resource page has been expanded to support them in getting their new hire off to a great start: Supervisor Toolkit
