Mark Huddleston at Music Hall

UNH President Mark Huddleston on stage at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, N.H.

UNH President Mark Huddleston took to the stage of The Music Hall in Portsmouth last week to help launch the 2015-2016 season and to say a few words about the recent expansion of the university’s longstanding partnership with the historic theater.

Introducing Huddleston, Music Hall executive director Patricia Lynch said, “I am proud to highlight another innovative partnership with the University of New Hampshire, which has come on as a contributing partner.” The partnership, Lynch said, creates “a deeper, more robust and collaborative relationship for us with the region’s leading institution of higher education.”

As a contributing partner, UNH will continue its sponsorship of the popular Writers on a New England Stage series. In addition, UNH students will have free admission to Music Hall films and discounted tickets to select shows and UNH may use the historic theater for alumni networking events, among other benefits.

“The University of New Hampshire has a rich partnership with The Music Hall,” said Huddleston. “Our faculty and alumni appear as expert panelists for Music Hall discussions, and the programming helps us attract and retain great students and faculty. Together we make the Seacoast a community that our alumni want to stay in, to start businesses in; together we are greater.”
