Parking as a First-Year
First year students are generally not allowed to park on campus. The purpose of this is to help the student adjust to university life and to take full advantage of all the supports available on campus. Due to their condition, there are some first-year students who will require access to a car on campus. This is generally the case when:
- A student has a medical need that cannot be attended to on-campus and must be attended to on a frequent basis off-campus
- A student requires supports that are not available on campus or virtually
When the student has an established need, SAS can approve the student for parking as a first-year. Location of student parking is determined by Campus Services. Many students will still require on-campus transportation through shuttles and accessible transportation as needed.
Use of Wildcat Access
UNH Transit System provides a fixed route service (Wildcat Transit) and a Paratransit service (Access Van) according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Eligibility for the Access Van is determined through SAS or Health & Wellness. The Access Van service offers point-to-point transportation for UNH students with permanent or temporary disabilities. The Access Van serves the campus area serviced by the Campus Connector shuttles. Rides can be scheduled by contacting Access Van Dispatch at 603-862- 2328 (V).
