The Art minor at UNH offers a dynamic blend of hands-on studio experience and art history study that enriches your creative and analytical skills. Here you'll be able to explore diverse mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, printmaking and woodworking while developing a deeper understanding of art history.

Through our Visiting Artists & Art Historians program and study abroad opportunities, you'll connect with diverse and global perspectives that complement any major and prepare you for careers in the arts or advanced study in fields from business to design.

What is art?

Combine your interest in fine arts and art history through the art minor at UNH. You’ll gain studio experience in drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, printmaking or woodworking while also receiving an introduction to art history. Combine a minor in art with a major in history or the classics to prepare for careers in the arts or further study in graduate programs as varied as architecture, business and law.

  • The minor in art consists of five courses (20 credits) chosen from the offerings of the department. Courses can be all studio art, all art history, or a combination of both.
  • Academic policies related to minors.
