What is international business and economics?

International business and economics focuses management, international trade, finance, marketing, and economics on the challenges of global commerce. International managers explore such questions as, “What causes international financial crisis and how can we shelter our corporation from risk?” or “How will trade laws impact our ability to complete overseas?” and “How can we use technology to manage human resources over great distance and among different cultures?"

The business administration international business and economics major at UNH is interdisciplinary, providing strong business training and preparation for a career at organizations with an international focus, particularly multinational corporations, international banks, and government agencies. The program combines general business education with in-depth knowledge in economics, finance, and management. You will be required to round out your education with either an internship at an international organization or a study abroad experience. Program Description

Major Requirements

A typical plan of study follows, showing the major-required courses. Students take 16-18 credits per semester. Discovery Program requirements (including the Inquiry requirement in the first two years) and elective courses are taken as well. Students are expected to follow this course plan. In the first three semesters, students cannot take more than two major courses in a single semester. The options have additional requirements as noted.
