It can also be known as the process of raising your own self-awareness, leading to a change in one’s behavioral patterns, typically for the better.
So, how does one go about obtaining somatic intelligence of their body? Somatic intelligence is achieved through body-based practices that calm the mind and body, and keep ourselves in a sense of safety. We can do this through:
- Touching (such as making eye contact or hugging)
- Placing your hand over your heart
- Moving (such as yoga or utilizing power poses)
Somatic intelligence is all about being able to soothe yourself after times of stress, anger, fear, and sadness. It is also about learning to be resilient with whatever life throws at you.
