Why Gender Matters

Program Description:

From the moment of birth, we are each assigned a gender. Pink for girls. Blue for boys. The implications of this social assignment are complex and far reaching for each of us. This social system requires/demands that women and men subscribe to specific and strict gender rules that limit our inherent human potential. It is particularly cumbersome for individuals whose gender identity doesn't fit this bipolar social system of "female" or "male". This presentation is in a casual discussion format with adequate time for questions.
