It seems impossible for nature to go from atoms and simple molecules to the complexity of living systems, yet our 4.5-billion-year-old planet has had life on it for 3.5 billion years. How could this happen?

Thomas Laue

Thomas Laue, Ph.D., U. of Connecticut, is the Carpenter Professor biochemistry at the University of New Hampshire. He is the director of both the Biomolecular Interaction Technologies Center and the Center to Advance Molecular Interaction Science. His research is directed toward the development of direct physical methods for determining properties of macromolecules.
