What is leadership?

Leadership is a process of social influence and motivating a group of people to act toward achieving a common goal. A leader can be an individual who inspires others to act, and leadership also can be shared among a group of people. It includes skills and knowledge that extend beyond management, including such traits as innovation, creativity and inspiration along with strong skills in communication and emotional intelligence.

Why study leadership at UNH?

The Minor in Leadership is designed for students motivated by a deep sense of passion and purpose. This program will energize you to mobilize resources which enable people to successfully fulfill their roles and responsibilities in their organizations. The course of study will help you to develop your leadership identity and skills such as effective communicating, inspiring and developing people, and awakening passion in others for great accomplishments. The minor combines coursework from management and social sciences, along with an experiential learning requirement in leadership. It also allows you to pursue your leadership passions through the selection of two elective courses.

The Leadership minor course of study will help you to develop your leadership identity and skills such as effective communicating, inspiring and developing people, and awakening passion in others for great accomplishments.

The Leadership program combines coursework from management and social sciences, along with an experiential learning requirement in leadership. The minor also allows students to pursue their leadership passions through the selection of two elective courses.
