Application Deadlines
February 15 each year, for the third week of May start date.
While applications received after the deadline may be considered, to receive priority consideration for financial aid, please submit your application by the deadline. Please check with the UNH Graduate School for graduate financial aid deadlines.
Program Calendar (Academic Year 2013 - 2014)
- Summer Term: May 20–June 28, 2013 — on campus in Durham, New Hampshire; Optional: June 17–June 28, 2013 — Sustainable Microenterprise and Development Program as a MADPP elective, on campus in Durham, New Hampshire
- Fall Term: late August–early December, 2013 — courses taken on-line while working on project or internship in home community
- Winter/J-Term: three weeks in January, 2013 — courses taken on-line while working on project or internship in home community
- Spring Term: late January–early May, 2014 — courses taken on-line while working on project or internship in home community
- Summer Term: May 19–June 27, 2014 — on campus in Durham, New Hampshire; Optional: June 16–June 27, 2014 — Sustainable Microenterprise and Development Program as a MADPP elective, on campus in Durham, New Hampshire
Application Requirements Checklist
All application materials for the MADPP program must be submitted electronically to the UNH Graduate School. Application materials as well as more specific details regarding the application process are available at the UNH Graduate School website.
MADPP Checklist:
____Application form: See the UNH Graduate School Application Instructions web page for more information. Note: Only on-line applications are accepted.
____Letters of recommendation: Three letters of reference are required. These should include academic and professional references. References from family or friends are not accepted. Use the form available from the UNH Graduate School.
____Resume: All applicants to the MADPP program must submit a current resume to grad.docs@unh.edu. Please submit it at the same time as all the other supporting materials.
____Personal statement: This should be a clear, concise statement of the applicant’s relevant past experiences, including academics, research, and/or work experience. The statement should also include an expression of interests and an explanation of the student’s goals in pursuing a master's degree. This is submitted electronically as part of the application process.
____An undergraduate degree: Applicants must have an undergraduate degree (B.A., B.S., or equivalent) from an accredited university.
____Transcripts: Applicants must submit one official copy from each college/university attended for at least one year. Official transcripts must be submitted in sealed envelopes.
____Test scores: TOEFL scores are required if English is not your first language. If you have taken the GRE exam, you may submit those scores if you choose.
____Application fee: There is a $65 on-line fee to apply. It can be paid upon completion of the application.
____Residency form: This is required for New Hampshire applicants only. The form can be found here: http://www.gradschool.unh.edu/forms/residency.pdf.
____International applicants: While international applicants to the MADPP program do not have to file a pre-application on the graduate school website prior to applying to the program, please see the International Applicants page on the UNH Graduate School website for additional requirements.

Applicants should check their file frequently on the graduate school website to make sure that all of their application materials are arriving in a timely manner. Tuition Cost
Tuition cost depends on whether a student is a New Hampshire (NH) resident and on the academic term (as of 2013):
- In-state (NH) tuition: $550 per credit for Summer term and J-Term and $1,040 per credit for Fall and Spring terms
- Out-of-state tuition: $605 per credit for Summer term and J-Term and $1,144 per credit for Fall and Spring terms
This pricing model results in a total tuition cost of $27,330 for in-state residents and $30,063 for out-of-state residents to meet the requirement of 13 three-credit courses.

- Student A lives in state, follows 14-month model, stays 4 weeks on campus each summer, and takes J-term course

Aside from the tuition cost, other fees include the following (as of 2013):

- Memorial Union Building fee = $15.00
- Technology fee = $88.50
- Student service fee = $138.00
- Non-Summer term (per term)
- For students living within 50-mile radius of UNH Durham campus = $849.50

- Student recreation fee = $240.50
- Transportation fee = $54.50
