College Students with Asperger's/High-Functioning Autism Meeting Group

College Students with Asperger's/High-Functioning Autism Meeting Group

Meet other college students with Asperger’s/ High Functioning Autism. The group will be designed around agreed upon activities to foster positive, appropriate relationships.

We are forming the Fall 2011 group for college students – ages 18 and up - who have Asperger’s/ High Functioning Autism. The main purpose of the group will be socializing.

We plan to meet twice a month for an experiential-type group where we will get to know one another, talk about the challenges of our jobs, college classes, learning to deal with co-workers, and finding friends when school is over. The first meeting day in the month will be spent socializing and talking about what we would like to do the second meeting of the month. This meeting will be whatever the group decides on: go to a movie, out to dinner, bowling or any other activities that group members are interested in.

The group will have 2 facilitators, Kathy Berger from UNH and Robin Lurie-Meyerkopf from the Asperger’s Association of New England.
