The minor in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication focuses specifically on communication that is internal to organizations. You will explore theories of organizational communication, as well as key internal responsibilities and challenges that all organizations face, including: team dynamics, diversity, conflict, privacy, identifying and inspiring talent, and defining and achieving goals, among others. This minor is interdisciplinary in that the topics covered traverse many areas of study.

The minor in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication focuses specifically on communication that is internal to organizations. Students will survey theories of organizational communication, and explore key internal responsibilities and challenges that all organizations face, including: team dynamics, diversity, conflict, privacy, identifying and inspiring talent, and defining and achieving goals, among others. This minor is interdisciplinary in that the topics covered traverse many areas of study.
 
Note: This minor may not be declared with the following major: B.S. Professional Communication: Interpersonal and Organizational Communication.

Requirements for the Program

All minor courses must be completed with a minimum grade of C-, and a 2.0 grade point average must be maintained in courses for the minor. Two courses must be at the upper level (600 or 700). Only 8 credits may overlap between major and minor.
