Medical schools don’t require a specific undergraduate major, so UNH doesn’t offer a designated pre-med or pre-health major. Instead, we encourage students to choose a major they’re passionate about! Most medical school prerequisites are included in our science majors, but if you choose a non-science major, we’ll help you fit these courses into your schedule.
Popular programs pre-med and pre-health students major in:
Biology, Biomedical Science: Medical & Veterinary Science, Nutrition, Neuroscience & Behavior, Genetics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Health Sciences, Exercise Science (but we’ve also have had Civil Engineering, Finance, Music, Psychology and Political Science majors who were accepted to medical school, too!)
