How does getting this vaccine make you feel?

Receiving the COVID-19 vaccine was personally a great decision for me. It gave me reassurance that I was protecting not only myself, but others as well.

What does getting this vaccine mean to you?

Being a healthcare worker, I want to protect others and myself. I work in a pharmacy, many of the patients that I help are elderly and vulnerable. Since they are much more vulnerable to the virus, I was happy I was able to receive the vaccine to continue on helping them and keeping them safe.

What would you say to someone who feels hesitant about getting the vaccine?

It is completely up to you and your choice to receive the vaccine - if you are hesitant or have questions, definitely reach out to someone who has received the vaccine to get their experience - everyone’s body is different. Additional research on the vaccines may help, too!

What have been some of your favorite ways to stay physically active during the pandemic?

I have workout apps on my phone that I like to do at home. I get to work out in an environment that I’m comfortable in and at my own pace!

How have you been taking care of your emotional wellbeing during the pandemic?

Yes! Self-care is everything to me. With classes being online, my eyes are glued to a screen every day. I try to stay as positive as I can and try to take a breather whenever I need to.

How do you stay connected with others?

Popular social media apps like Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok have kept me in touch with the world. I like to use Discord and FaceTime to talk to a big group of friends. We usually stream a movie and watch it together!

Now that you have received the first dose of the vaccine, what is the next thing that you will be holding onto for hope?

I’m very excited to get my second dose very soon. I will be trained on administering the vaccine, as well, so I cannot wait until everyone has a chance to receive it!

Do you have any positive words of encouragement for members of our audience who are feeling completely drained and burnt out from this pandemic?

I absolutely feel what you are feeling. You are not alone! Take a break, go at your own pace, and most importantly – BREATHE! I know we will get through this pandemic!
