Doug Rodoski

Doug Rodoski is a Staff Sergeant and MP in the US Army Reserves with three deployments to Iraq.  During his time at UNH, Doug completed a BA in English with a minor in Anthropology in 2016 and is graduating this year with a Master of Fine Arts for Writing (Fiction).  Doug says that his time at UNH has been among the happiest days of his life. “Being surrounded by energetic and positive young people who have been supportive and respectful of me, and willing to exchange ideas, has given me great confidence in the future of the university and of our country.” The biggest lesson Doug has at UNH is how to work towards a goal, and stay on task and positive, while dealing with obstacles and distractions. He credits the administrators and faculty and great young people at UNH with helping keep him positive.  His advice for incoming Veterans is to keep your inputs open and embrace the UNH community. “Reach out to the students on campus, exchange ideas and support, and do not separate yourself from the younger generation.”  Doug plans to pursue further education by taking continuing education classes and eventually apply for faculty positions.
