Advancing the University through Friendraising and Fundraising
University Dedications and Ground-breaking Events
University Events and Programs (UEP) works with various departments to help promote and showcase capital improvements on campus. Renovation celebrations marking the midpoint of construction projects help to reach out to new donors and steward existing supporters.
UEP works with UNH Athletics to honor and induct new members to the Athletics Hall of Fame and present the Joan Leitzel Contributions to Athletics Award. It is an opportunity for former student-athletes, alumni, friends, and coaches to celebrate and salute inductees for their contributions to intercollegiate athletics and the pursuit of excellence.
Evening of Distinction
The Evening of Distinction is an annual event honoring the recipients of the Hubbard Family Award for Service to Philanthropy and the Pettee Medal Award.
UEP partners with the UNH Foundation to present the highest foundation honor awarded to individuals whose philanthropic leadership and gifts have strengthened the University and/or who have promoted philanthropy throughout the state. In addition, new inductees into the honorary giving societies are recognized and acknowledged for their generosity.
UEP partners with the Alumni Association to honor the winner of the annual Pettee Medal Award. The Charles Holmes Pettee Medal was established in 1940 to recognize individuals who exhibit the rare devotion to service expressed by the life of the late Dean Pettee, who served the college unselfishly for 62 years as professor and dean until his death in 1938. The medal is awarded to a resident or former resident of the state in recognition of outstanding accomplishment or distinguished service in any form to the state, the nation or the world.
