ice hockey players at black ice tournament

The Black Ice Hockey Tournament raised funds for public skating projects in Concord, N.H.

UNH Wildcats still dominate in hockey! The UNH team held its own at the third annual Black Ice Pond Hockey Tournament in Concord N.H. on Saturday, January 26.

Congratulations to Tim Walsh ’00, Dan Enders ’00, Mick Mounsey ’04, and Corey-Joe Ficek ’01 for holding the title of tournament winners of their division for the third year running.

The Black Ice Pond Hockey Association has given more than $60,000 back to the Concord community with tournament funds. That money has gone toward creating an outdoor skating area at Rollins Park and will hopefully help create a new skate house in White Park, according to Chris Brown ’93, one of the organizers and a player.
