Mikey was a recent graduate from the University of New Hampshire, where he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering, dual degree in Sustainability, and minor Sustainable Energy. He grew up working in manufacturing and did not start on his sustainability journey until college. As an undergraduate, he worked in manufacturing plants working on components ranging from mechanical heart parts and aerospace to connector cables that transmit data at 112 GB/s. Mikey has studied in the United States and New Zealand. Mikey is also a Co-Founder of a start-up called Scrapp which is centered around tackling contamination in the recycling stream. Through Scrapp, Mikey has placed in the UNH Holloway Competition, UNH Social Venture Innovation Challenge, and other international competitions. In the long term, he wants to serve as a boundary worker between technology and the environment.

During the summer of 2021, Mikey work with New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility (NHBSR) to develop a “Climate Action Challenge” to engage businesses and communities in climate action. This consisted of providing an education, resources, and expertise from industry professionals through both detailed content and discussions. The challenge is aimed to engage all stakeholders with topics ranging from renewable energy and regenerative agriculture to introducing sustainability as a competitive advantage. Currently the challenge is in review and is set to release in the fall.
