Mandatory Fees

• Memorial Union Building (MUB) Fee: $15

Please note: registration, MUB and student services fees are paid only once per semester. Technology fees are pro-rated based on the number of credits a student enrolls in over the entire Summer Session.

Tuition Refund Policy

Auditing a Course (Undergraduate or Graduate)

• $100 per credit
• Granted at the discretion of the instructor on a space available basis, individuals may audit credit courses at the above rate per credit plus the mandatory semester fees and any other required course fees. Registrations for audit classes are accepted only AFTER classes begin with signed authorization (add/drop form) from the instructor. Students who register for a course before classes begin and change to audit after classes begin are not eligible for the $100 per credit rate.

Tuition Refund Policy

A 100% tuition refund (excluding the registration fee) is available to individuals who withdraw from courses before the first day of the term in which the course is offered. A 50% tuition refund is available to individuals who withdraw from courses between the first day of the term and the add/drop course deadline for that term. Please see the Summer Academic Calendar for add/drop deadlines for each summer term. If a course is cancelled by UNH, all course charges and fees will be refunded.

Exceptions to the tuition and fee policies are considered by petition only. Petitions must be submitted to the Financial Exceptions Committee, UNH Business Services, 11 Garrison Avenue, Durham, NH 03824.

NH Senior citizen tuition waiver

New Hampshire residents who are age 65 or older and are not enrolled in a degree program are eligible to take a maximum of two credit-bearing courses* per academic year (Summer/Fall/Spring) tuition-free. Students are responsible for all other costs of attendance, including fees. Prospective students who will be age 65 or older as of the first day of the semester, summer session, or term in which they wish to take a course may register no sooner than two weeks prior to the first day of class on a space-available basis and must provide proof of age and New Hampshire residency. Waivers will only be granted at the time of registration (not retroactively). Non-credit courses, workshops, etc. are not covered by this tuition waiver.

* Certain credit-bearing courses offered at UNH but administered by other institutions – such as Isles of Shoals and Library Science courses – are not covered by the tuition waiver.
