Program Description:

This presentation will cover topics such as how children learn math, cognitive development and mathematical problem solving.


Richard Zang

Prior to teaching, Professor Zang spent twelve years in corporate America working as a research assistant at IBM's Glendale Lab Research and Development Center and RCA's David Sarnoff Research Center. He was also a visiting fellow at Princeton University. Some of his most recent honors and awards include the Educator of the Year Award by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, the Volunteer Partnership Award by the Salvation Army in Manchester for his work with at-risk youth, and he was the first-ever recipient of the Dean's Award at the University of New Hampshire at Manchester, for outstanding service to the community and the college. He is currently an associate professor of mathematics at UNH Manchester. (*M)
