Sonic Woytonik is a PhD candidate in the History department. In addition to serving as President of the GSS, Sonic sits on Graduate Council and is the GSS's representative to the Faculty Senate and the President's Commission on the Status of People with Disabilities. She previously served as a senator for the College of Liberal Arts.

Vice-President

Bob Swarthout: Bob is a PhD candidate in NRESS. He has previously served as GSS President in 2011-2012 and the GSS representative to the USNH Board of Trustees between fall 2009 and spring 2011. He currently serves on the Governance Committee and Graduate Council.

Dan Tran: Dan is a PhD student in Physics. This is his first term as GSS Clerk. Dan works oin the cosmic ray research group in the Earth, Oceans and Space Institute. He serves on the Governance Committee.

John McClain: John is a PhD candidate in Applied Mathematics. This is his second term as GSS Treasurer. He also serves as the chair of the Graduate Fee Oversight Committee, leading the effort to keep our mandatory fees low.

Ian Cohen: Ian is a PhD student in Physics. This is his second term as GSS Representative to the Board of Trustees. Ian also serves as the GSS representative to the UNH Alumni Association.

Liberal Arts

Michael Verney: Michael received his M.A. in History from UNH and is currently in his second year of the PhD History program.  He is serving his first term as a Senator and sits on the Graduate Research Conference Committee. (Represents History, Political Science, Psychology and Justice Studies programs)

Joe Gilbert: Joe is a first-term senator and a second-year student in the English department, pursuing an MFA in fiction writing. He serves on MUB Board of Governors and Graduate Council. (Represents English, Music, Painting, Art, and Sociology programs)

Graduate School Programs

Rich Brereton: Rich is a PhD student in NRESS and serves as the GSS representative to the University Commitee on Academic Policy and Curriculum. (Represents all garduate students in programs housed under the graduate school)

Life Science and Agriculture

Megan Seneca: Megan came to UNH as a Masters student in Animal Science and is now a PhD student in the Department of Biological Science in Zoology.  This is her first term as COLSA's senator. (Represents all graduate students in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture)

Engineering and Physical Sciences

Deanna Silva: Deanna is a PhD student in Chemistry and is serving her second term as a senator.  She is also on the GSS Programming Committee. (Represents Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, and Masters of Science Teaching programs)

Surupa Shaw: Surupa is a PhD student in Mechanical engineering and serves as a GSS representative to the President's Commission on the Status of People of Color. This is her second term as a GSS senator. (Represents Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Ocean Engineering)
