Sustainable Nantucket is seeking agricultural intern/ apprentices to
participate in our Apprenticeship program on Nantucket Island, off the coast
of Massachusetts. Successful candidates will be paired with one of six island
farms / growers, experiencing and participating in many aspects of small-scale
farming in our sensitive island environment, from greenhouse cultivation to
field planting and harvest to farm stand sales. They will participate in the
Sustainable Nantucket Farmers & Artisans Market on behalf of the farms, and
possibly in restaurant delivery. There are also required reading / responses.

Minimum Qualifications:
Strong interest in sustainable agriculture and the practical aspects /business
of farming. Gardening / farming experience and retail sales experience not
required but helpful.

Wage, Salary, Benefits Description:
Wages range from $8.50 to $10 per hour. One farm provides housing. All other
farms do not. However, Sustainable Nantucket will help facilitate the search
for island housing. Ideal time-frame is March to September, but some farms
will accept June to September or October.
