Nutrition Ed and SNAP Outreach Program Assistant
Three Squares is hiring a full-time Program Assistant to work on outreach to CalFresh eligible families as well as assist with our nutrition education program, Cooking Matters. The full-time, paid position will begin on March 18th and will last for one year. You will work one day a week in our office in San Francisco, and spend the other four days conducting outreach, training volunteers, meeting with community partners, and coordinating nutrition education classes. This is an AmeriCorps VISTA position, made available through the Anti-Hunger and Opportunity Corps (AHOC).

Passionate about healthy food access and food justice Excellent written and oral communication skills Fluent or near fluent in both Spanish and English Must have a driver's license and car you can use for work, and feel comfortable driving up to one hour to sites
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers who conduct CalFresh outreach and Cooking Matters nutrition education classes in low-income communities throughout the Bay Area Supervise community health workers (or 'promotores de salud') who conduct CalFresh outreach and Cooking Matters classes Plan, shop for, and coordinate Cooking Matters classes Recruit new sites for CalFresh outreach and Cooking Matters classes Assist with research, documentation, evaluation, and data management Assist with fundraising events and grant proposal writing
You will receive a stipend of $1,606 (pre-tax) per month. At the end of your term of service, you will receive an education award of $5,550, which can be used for student loans or further education. The position includes health insurance and childcare (if eligible), as well as travel reimbursements.
