Farm Stewardship
Buck Hill is a 150 year old heritage farm located in Jefferson, NY in Schoharie County. For more than 50 years, Buck Hill Farm has been a leading maple syrup producer in the region and continues its vision as a viable and sustainable agricultural enterprise by restoring the fields and orchards to their original service.
The Farm Stewardship will provide a hand’s on learning opportunity for individuals interested in gaining working knowledge of diverse farm operations; including crop planning, field preparation and planting, orchard and forest management, animal husbandry, maple syrup production, value-added food processing, marketing and more.
The Farm Stewardship is a voluntary position. Room and board are provided and college credit may apply. There are positions for up to 4 Farm Stewards per academic semester.
